THIS! IS! OUR!
Subtle form of daily resistance,
Through the smog, we envision new horizons,
Though perhaps unassuming, our constancy will demand respect,
Unwavering, with steadfast devotion,
We turn our backs, on oil, on convenience,
On this life, of inCARceration, on this life of inCARceration,
Power to the pedal!
Ride your bike!
GOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Tragedy strikes, and we ask who, what, where, when
The essential question left unasked
Give us the drama, feed us that which is unbelievable
Vengeance is our creed,
National introspection while necessary, suffers neglect
Don't make us question, leave us alone,
To our hubs of shrouded isolation
And while this is not an apology for horror,
It is a call to ask why,
Why would this happen to us?

The ballot box is marginalized when lust for the dollar burns so great
Every four years versus every single day
Let our emphasis be placed on this lifestyle way
As the attractive lure of the monoliths grow
So does the need to support that which is local and independent
Every four years versus every single day
Let our emphasis be placed on this lifestyle way
Daily choices, daily change,
Maybe one day we'll rearrange

The larger whole is not what we see,
All we embrace is egocentricity
The lifeworld is right in front of you, open your eyes and realize the truth
We kill each other to sell their products,
The image we want is the image they create
We're looking our for number one while completely rejecting the unfortunate ones
We allow ourselves to destroy other life,
just because we're told that this is all right
Through abstaining from acknowledging, we're abstaining from justice
When we choose to deny, we take hold of cultural lies
We can't go on just letting our ways suffice
In order to create change we must destroy the realm in which we live
That allows us to passively partake in daily oppression

We are not who we intend to be, it's something about us as humanity
We want and need and strive to be all that we can be,
But always fall short and lose our integrity
You and me, we're both the same,
We both have hopes, we both have goals,
So why reject each other and choose to be enemies?
Please don't limit me to the scope of your reality
I have not done what you claim I have done
I've only accepted what you have rejected
The truth to me, might be a lie to you,
But let's talk through it until we can make due

Entertained. Leisured.Pacified.
A new day builds momentum, meets us, then it dies,
A generation with resources and networks like none before,
All this potential, yet we prefer commercial lore
Why can't we live with more creativity, why must we look towards an entertainment industry?
Is all we have in common, a commercial upbringing?
Transition will not arrive, when competing with the TV,
Calls to action superceded by ads and the marquee
Cathode ray amusement, distract our eyes increasingly,
We buy their music products and support it senselessly
The big creators of diversion, do not let their product fill our day
Great creative minds scumble the people like we are paint
Their passion is to shift us, and like drones we do sway,
Comfortable! Idle! Satisfied!

What's good for the goose is good for the gander,
But apparently in this case, equality is too hard of an answer,
We thought it was fundamental,
Urban concentration, dispensing your toxins with no regard for anything or anyone,
Try to tell me how you balance the bottom line with local health,
Try to tell me that you care about anything but your own wealth
Try to tell me you're focused on anyone but yourself
We see right through you!!!!
